A night of shopping, food, drinks and fun

Peach Vintage is an online consignment store selling preloved, vintage and new clothing.
The concept is a simple one -
If you have items in your wardrobe that still have tags on or are gently worn? If they are sitting there unused there maybe someone will put your beautiful pieces to good use.
Here on the website I accept Designer and Vintage Items to re-sell. You will find high street items to purchase on my social media handles

]]>1. inexpensive clothing produced rapidly by mass-market retailers in response to the latest trends.
We have created a culture of buying cheaper clothes for short term use and then replacing them just as quickly.
Apparently, now we have 52 seasons! This is a disastrous impact on our environment.
The term “Fast Fashion” is not recognised as much as we would think.
Here are some of the facts available to us.
• The fast fashion industry emits 1.2 billion tons of CO2 equivalent per year. This is about 5% of global emissions. That’s more than the emissions created by air travel and international shipping.
• The fast fashion industry is responsible for producing 20% of global wastewater.
• The industry is one of the largest consumers of freshwater on the planet. To put this in perspective 80 billion cubic metres is enough to fill about 32000 Olympic size swimming pools.
• Since 2005, the death toll in Bangladesh alone is 1800 workers.
But, lets cheer this post up a bit, there is always hope, there are things we can do to change the curve and have a more sustainable wardrobe!
No 1 – Sell your clothing with Peach Vintage https://peach-vintage-clothing.mysupadupa.com/pages/page-1
I sell preloved clothing and accessories including vintage and antiques. You can clean out your wardrobe of your items that you no longer want to wear, once the items are in perfect preloved condition then I can sell them for you and we split the profits 50/50 win win. The easiest way to go sustainable is buying second hand clothing!
2 - Charity shops!
I have shopped myself in charity shops for years. When I cant sell your item I will always suggest you send them to the charity shops. As part of my service I also offer to take your unsold items to my local charity shops on your behalf.
3 – Try not to impulse Buy
Even though I am a business, I always give people the opportunity to make sure they want the item. If you love it, buy it, is my motto.
Have a look in your wardrobe first, make sure you don’t have a similar item. If you do, however, send it to me, I will sell it for you :-)
4 – Upcycle your items
My new past time since Covid 19 is painting my clothes!! I am having so much fun. Already painting many items. It is a super way to reinvent your item without it costing the environment anything. And you can have so much fun doing it too.
5 – Buy and sell groups on social media
I am in business nearly 3 years, and I am a member of different selling groups on social media. These can be daunting to people that are not used to selling your items. In saying this, I have a new section to Peach Vintage for you,. its a group page, where I am offering this service. It’s a less daunting space where you will also find like minded people looking to buy and sell their clothing also. Check out the group page for more info https://www.facebook.com/groups/Peachvintageresalegroup/
]]>Its not something I ever considered doing. I have bought many items over the years that have been up cycled. I was in London about 6 years ago and the "in" thing was cropped shirts down at the markets. However, I thought, hang on this is a bit of a farce, they were literally cutting the bottoms off the shirts, leaving the frayed edges and selling them as upcycled shirts!!! That to me is not fair to the customer, it was a cheap and unfair way of making a quick buck and selling to people. There has to be care in what you do! doesn't there? Or am I too honest? I don't think so.
Fast forward a few years later, I am learning a new skill.
In the 80s and 90s growing up, my mam worked for an interior designer, mam made curtains for the business. Every school play or big event we were in we had a dress made by hand from my mam. Looking back on old photos now, I realize that most were remnants of the curtain fabric :-)
My mam was the O.G when it came to recycling and up cycling and reusing!
It gives me so much joy to be able to learn something that my mam is teaching me. Time spent with her like this is precious. What is also special is more and more people are turning their old clothes into something new.
Think outside the box :-)

My aim is to bring slow fashion, reloved/preloved items to all shapes and sizes of beautiful woman.
Currently I resell sizes 6 - 20 I know that this is not good enough, I want to be able to bring sizes to everyone so no one is left out. In my defense, (is that okay to say?) I only sell items that have been given to me by woman to sell, non of the items are my own. I would love to hear from woman in the plus size range who would like to buy and sell preloved and vintage items. We are and must all be a part of the circular fashion economy and slow down the fast fashion industry. Sustainable fashion must be attainable to us all. My next job is to locate myself a mannequin in a bigger body. I only have one, and it fits a EU 8/10.
So, are you thinking of reselling your beautiful items with me ? Check out my insta page to get an idea of how it all works - https://www.instagram.com/peach_vintage_clothing/
Reselling your own items can be a lot of effort. You have to take photos of your clothing, write a sale post for each item, correspond with potential buyers, and meet up with someone to make the sale.
I will take all the hassle away from you, and you can be totally anonymous while making money from your items. All I request is your items are in perfect preloved condition, just washed, and with no errors. Drop me a line on WhatsApp or contact me through any of my social media outlets.
This particular beauty on the mannequin is size 18. And its as pretty as a peach and is available to purchase
PEACE
]]>Peach Vintage started in Feb 2017 from very very small beginnings. It started because I had clothes that I didnt want to part with, and didnt want to give away. HOW greedy of me!!
In truth, I had gathered so many beautiful items, mainly vintage items when I lived in the States in the early 2000's. Part with them? NEVER, how dare I even dream of it. But, I was moving, and things were changing in my life and I had to make the desicion, beautiful american vintage dresses from the 60's or? ....well I didnt have to make any desicions at all, but a USA size 0 was never going to fit me, (it never did,) I just bought them becuase I loved the colours and the style and material.
So with all good business ideas - it came from something that was needed. The need to show these items to others, to pass them on so that they could be loved properly and not just sitting in boxes for good ol moi to take them out and look at them when I see fit.
For a good 6 months I didnt have the confidence to sell my vintage pieces I collected clothing from friends, my sisters, my aunts, anyone close to me that had beautiful items to sell. I started the FB page https://www.facebook.com/Peachvintage and began selling their items there! I put a call out to other likeminded woman if they wanted to sell their dresses I could do it for them, and I would give them 50% of the profits. I felt like #girlboss !! hang on, that wasn't true I felt I was going to be bigger and better than Sophia Christina Amoruso....TBC......
There is so much more I want to tell you all...but for now. I will leave it there, because, I want you to come back :-)
PEACE KT xx
]]>I'm an advocate of shopping second hand, I've said it time and time again everyone should try shopping second hand, and here are the reasons why -
1. The thrill of finding that one off piece that no one else will have.
2. You are reducing landfill by purchasing a second hand outfit.
3. You are helping small businesses like Www.peachvintageclothing.com
4. You are supporting charities if you purchase in a charity shop.
5. There is no such thing as a "season"
BUT may I add, while I am all for shopping second hand, however I also #shoplocal my sister is working in @dakota_midleton and I picked up these unreal jeans during the week. They are called #katiecarrot so I couldn't resist. I'm wearing @filausa #sneakers which were new!!!! I paid €25 for them in @ncbi_retail my bag was gifted to me by my friend Kelly and my earrings are from Anna @revolvingwardrobevintage
If you have not bought a second hand item yet, try mixing it with one of your new items. Gradually you will feel its ok to #chooseused
]]>" I bought in the charity shop" When I was younger, and I was going to an event, I would do my best to seek something out second hand before anywhere else. Many times I attended weddings and parties and even work events in a second hand item, but I would never ever admit it - isn't that sad, now that I look back on it all, I am annoyed at myself for not being honest. Afraid of what people would think. Now I am older, and a (little) bit wiser, I can be honest, because as you get older, you get more confident in yourself, you don't have to follow the crowd.
Many a time a friend or work colleague would say "where did you get your dress, its fab" I may have purchased it in the NCBI or St Vincent's, for a fraction of the price, it may even had the tags on!! and I would reply with "oh I bought it in......" (Some high street shop or boutique, checking the label prior to the event for fear of being caught out :-)
Over the last 10 years things have dramatically changed, there have been unique preloved clothing boutiques and clothing stores opening up around Ireland.
Along with the rise of social media, have come really niche groups for buying and selling your items. These are great platforms as they are a safe environment for people to sell and buy clothing.
I know that when I buy and sell something second hand I am entering the circular fashion movement, I am playing my part in helping to extend the lifespan of clothing and reduce what ends up in landfill.
In the pic above I am wearing only Vintage, second hand and upcycled items and I look damn happy to be doing so. I also FEEL happy to wear them and that is what matters the most :-)

I cant imagine it has been 6 months since I have been able to show you my vintage items in person. I have missed the banter and the camaraderie between other vendors. There is a different atmosphere at markets then your general "bricks and mortar" shops, I can totally say this, as I have a vintage clothing shop in Youghal Cork Cork. check it out on line https://revolving-wardrobe-vintage.mysupadupa.com/ So I am allowed to make this statement :-)
Markets have an easy feeling, people are browsing and chatting and usually inquisitive. The mix of vendors always gives me such joy, everything from myself selling vintage and antiques, to people selling the most creative one of items that they have put their heart and soul into. This is why I LOVE markets, the people!!
I was so happy when I received an email this week to say markets are back!!!! life is totally different now, but I have total faith that vintage and craft markets will have the same feel if not with a little more space ;-)
This Saturday (4th July) I am in Blarney from 2pm - 4pm https://www.facebook.com/theoldblarneypostoffice/
